Tipping with a competing Casino’s Chips
Main Post:
I recently stayed at a strip hotel, and upon departure, realized I had chips from a downtown casino. I didn’t have time to go downtown to cash them in, so I left them as a gratuity for housekeeping, next to the card that the housekeeper customarily leaves. After thinking about it, I realized that it might be burdensome for someone to have to go downtown to make the exchange. Anyone have experience with this?
Top Comment: Live in Vegas since 1986. It’s not an issue, 99% of the casinos will take other casino chips. So the housekeeper would just take them to the nearest casino to cash it in. Once a month, casinos go around to the various casinos to cash in those chips that belong to other casinos.
I've been collecting Casino Chips for a few years and need some help. Are there any casinos that I missed that are worthwhile to visit for another chip in the collection?

Top Comment: How about off strip like SouthPoint, GVR, Sunset Station, etc.
What if someone mid bet just decided to take their chips off the table and walk away

Example: dealer in blackjack shows a 10, and the player has a 16, they just take their chips off the table and walk away
What would even happen in a scenario like this?

Casual Poker and Blackjack with no chips/bet system
Main Post:
I've been trying to find rules on how to play Poker or Blackjack casually without needing chips or the betting system but can hardly find some. These systems are fundamental to these games and therefore I understand what I made couldn't be seen as "real poker/blackjack" to some. Most of the time I only have decks of cards on my pockets not chips so an alternative would be nice. Alternative versions allow play with younger people without letting them use or even think of using money for a game. I've made some alternatives to how you can play these games with just a deck of cards and nothing else. So far I've made a 2 player version for poker but hopefully I can figure out something for more players.
2 player No-chip Poker (Hold'em):
- Play as normal but the actions are only check, fold or All in.
- If someone folds, they win if the enemy does indeed have the higher hand. They lose if they have the higher hand.
- Going all in will go straight to the river but whoever wins gets 2 points.
- First to 5 points wins (or any amount you want your game's length to be)
- Cards are shuffled each round.
- Can be applied to different versions of poker like Five Card or Seven Card Stud.
No-chip Blackjack:
- One player is the dealer and the others are attackers.
- The dealer always stays at 17 or above.
- Actions are only hit, stand, double down, and split.
- Wining a double down provides 2 points.
- You can only receive a single card from splitting even if they are aces. and you receive one point per split hands.
- If an attacker wins that gives them one point, getting blackjack is automatically 1 point unless the dealer gets a blackjack. That means neither will receive points.
- If an attacker loses that is one point to the dealer.
- A push means neither the dealer or attacker receives points.
- First to 5 points wins (or any amount you want your game's length to be)
- Cards are shuffled each round.
I wanted to share these rules out there since I don't see a lot online. Let me know what you think and if you have your own rules please share some.
Top Comment: Take a piece of paper and tear it in to strips. Use them as chips. Go outside and find some small rocks. Use them as chips. The answer isn't to change the game rules, it's to improvise some chips. Worst case scenario get a piece of paper write down scores. Start everyone at some amount and adjust accordingly after each hand.

How long can I abuse Free chips before the casino bans me?
Main Post:
There is a Casino just a 3 minute walk away from my house here in Mexico city.
They have a table game promotion that has been going on for over 2 years were they will give you a free matchplay chip of up to 10% of your buy in as long as it doesn’t exceed $50 USD.
I usually buy in for $500 and get the $50 dollar matchplay chip and play blackjack for a few hrs.
I have now decided that it would be more profitable to play a single bet per day at a roulette: $100 per column with one of the 3 bets being composed of a $50 matchplay chip and $50 reall dollars
- Worse case scenario is a 0 comes in and i lose $250 USD. It would happen once every 19 visits.
- best case scenario 1 of the columns with real money comes out, they pay me $300 with $50 being profit. If the column with the match play comes, i end with my original $250 and walk without profit or loss
Assuming i go without a loss for a full week or 2, how long would the casino allow me to continue playing before they implement a roll over policy?

If they're giving you matchplay every day you'd have to be a fool to hedge.
Ready set bet players… do you HAVE TO play with prop bet and VIP cards?
Main Post:
Pretty much title. I play my games with my family and we’ve never really jumped into anything heavier than splendor.. Wanting to show them more of the hobby I thought about picking this up, however, I noticed the prop bet and vip cards were a thing and didn’t want to instantly scare them away. I think I can explain the betting easily enough, but I don’t want to see “deer in the headlights” looks when I start to put out the prop bets. Is it possible to play a round or two without these? I understand I’m losing out on the extras, but I feel if it’s possible then I can start with just betting and implement the others later. TIA
Top Comment: Of course you don't have to
Pop Slots Minimum Bet increased?
Main Post:
I've been playing for a couple years and now all of a sudden today my minimum bet has significantly increased in all of my games. For example, games that I used to be able to bet 1M now require 15M million.
Has anyone else had this happen? Any suggestion of what I can do to get it to go back down?
Update on 7/26 - my minimums have gone back down on some of the games!! I notice it mostly in the "floor" games as opposed to the Lounge Games. There are fewer choices (like in the Rainbow Game there used to be a number of options like 1.8K, 2.7, 3.6, 4.5, 5.4, etc but now it goes from 3.6 to 4.5K to 9K then 15K. But, at least I have some much lower options instead of 15M.
The higher minimums took a real chunk of my bank (from 21B to 13B) but at least I can start leaving the game on Auto Spin at the lower minimums and hope to build it back up. Hopefully everyone else's have gone back down also.
Top Comment: Yep. Had one I think at like 50k that’s now minimum 500k
One chip rule question
Main Post:
At a 1/3 table, if its limped around to the small blind, and the small blind throws in a $5 chip without saying anything, should that be a call or a raise?
I've seen this twice at my local casino in the padt few weeks and one dealer/floor said it is a call because of the one chip rule, but then yesterday same situation and the dealer and players at the table insisted that since there's now 2 chips on the table it's a raise.
Is there a standard rule or anything for this? Or can you throw a chip out and then decide based on the action whether to say it was a call or it was a raise? (which can't be the rule right?)
Top Comment: One chip say nothing = call. Say raise = value of chip say a number ($100 chip but you say $25) = whatever you said. Bottom line verbalizing gets you what you intended
